Darby Canessa is a dancer and yoga teacher based in New York City. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. Since then, she has completed the 200 and 300 hour vinyasa yoga teacher trainings at Sonic Yoga. She is also certified in Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Trance Dance. Darby has performed works by Robert Battle, Catherine Cabeen, Alice Gosti, Todd Henry, and Doug Varone.

Ian Cherry lives and creates music in the East Village, Manhattan, and has worked with Todd Henry Movement as a dancer and musician.
Meek Man, from Burkina Faso, has been singing since 1995 as a village player, and moved to New York City in 2015.
Cherry and Meek met at PJ Clarke’s on the Hudson, where Cherry was waiting tables, and Meek was a dishwasher. After a few conversations, they realized their mutual passion for songwriting and music and basic goodness, and began collaboration in earnest Spring 2019. They are working together now to raise awareness for refugees in Burkina Faso due to repeated terrorism attacks in the region, resulting in life threatening peril for the people of Burkina Faso.

This is Q’s 5th year with the Todd Henry Movement and excited to be back. Native New Yorker and lifelong resident, dance is one for his first loves and true joys. It’s accessibility and universal language allows even a non-trained dancer like himself with freedom and gratitude. Q thanks THM for always giving him the opportunity to do so and his husband Jeffery for always telling him “I think you should do it.”
