Darby Canessa is a dancer and yoga teacher based in New York City. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. Since then, she has completed the 200 and 300 hour vinyasa yoga teacher trainings at Sonic Yoga. She is also certified in Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Trance Dance. Darby has performed works by Robert Battle, Catherine Cabeen, Alice Gosti, Todd Henry, and Doug Varone.

Ian Cherry lives and creates music in the East Village, Manhattan, and has worked with Todd Henry Movement as a dancer and musician.
Meek Man, from Burkina Faso, has been singing since 1995 as a village player, and moved to New York City in 2015.
Cherry and Meek met at PJ Clarke’s on the Hudson, where Cherry was waiting tables, and Meek was a dishwasher. After a few conversations, they realized their mutual passion for songwriting and music and basic goodness, and began collaboration in earnest Spring 2019. They are working together now to raise awareness for refugees in Burkina Faso due to repeated terrorism attacks in the region, resulting in life threatening peril for the people of Burkina Faso.

LIVING NOW: Ian Cherry lives in the East Village, Meek lives in the Bronx.

READING: Cherry is reading Keith Richards’ autobiography, called “Life,” and Meek is reading Peter Fuel’s “From Zero to One,” Biet Simkin’s “Don’t Just Sit There,” and the Bible.

Sarah Kelleher  is a Brooklyn-based social worker passionate about dogs, yoga, nature, and the human experience. She watches the same shows over and over again and is currently trying to find the strength to stop. She hopes to one day be reading, writing, yoga-ing, and social working around the world with 10 wiener dogs in her carry-ons.

Hannah Jean Lillevoy has been living and dancing in NYC for over 15 years, and has had the pleasure of performing in a wide variety of places, from Greenwood Cemetery to House of Yes. She is always excited to perform for the fabulous Todd Henry, especially for a great cause.

Todd Henry is a choreographer, writer, creative, and producer from Norwood, NY. B.A. in Dance and Anthropology from SUNY Potsdam. The Todd Henry Movement was born in 2011. He has created many pieces in many places in NYC. He is so grateful to each beautiful artist he has worked with.

Although Jordan McAfee studied business at Syracuse University he was also producing work that won the Light Work Community Award. He became an intern at the International Center of Photography and then went on to produce e-commerce photography sessions for Ralph Lauren. Disillusioned with commercial photography, he decided to pursue a career as a physician and went to Columbia University. While in medical school, he was so inspired by a course he took with photographer, Amy Arbus, that he left his studies to pursue photography full-time. He has been collaborating with Shane, a drag performer, actor and friend, on a book project for the past ten years.

Mark McQueen is a Brooklyn based singer, songwriter, and producer. Though primarily an electronic glam pop musician, McQueen has written songs for the play “The Reigning Princess of Pop” by Craig Donnely and original music for Todd Henry’s performance “There’s Something Wrong With Me.” McQueen’s new album “We’re All Gonna Die!” will be released on December 6, 2019.

This is Q’s 5th year with the Todd Henry Movement and excited to be back. Native New Yorker and lifelong resident, dance is one for his first loves and true joys. It’s accessibility and universal language allows even a non-trained dancer like himself with freedom and gratitude. Q thanks THM for always giving him the opportunity to do so and his husband Jeffery for always telling him “I think you should do it.”
