The GIFT by Lauren Hanna

Namaste Dear Friends,

We are moving into the one-year anniversary of the lockdown and most of us are ready for a shift.  It’s been a long year. Some of us have suffered from illness or loss of a loved one, others are experiencing the challenges of loneliness and isolation, and many of us are ready for the re-birth but feeling depleted and exhausted.

We are on the precipice of healing, but we are still held in this state of limbo or purgatory.  It’s a hard place to be as we all do our best to wait patiently for the recovery.

I think we are all ready for a GIFT.  I’d love to share a simple yet powerful practice that is used in the Shamanic Tradition to find the GIFTS amidst the difficulties of life. I hope it will help to sustain you in these last few months of this challenging time.

Find Your GIFTS

There are 3 simple steps.

  1. Surrender: When you find yourself suffering in any way from obstacles, difficulties, challenges, trauma. The shamanic tradition teaches us the first step to healing is to surrender.

I know how hard it is to surrender, often when we are suffering, the natural urge is to fight. But I encourage you to try it.  Let go, surrender, move into acceptance. You might notice the charge of your obstacle is released and it might lose its power over you.

2. The Lesson:  So now it’s time to ask the universe what is the lesson that you are meant to learn from this challenge. Often, it’s hard to identify what the universe is trying to teach you. Just ask out loud and listen. Explore areas where this challenge has allowed you to grow or change.  I promise if you dig deep something will always surface.

3. The Gift: Once you have realized your lesson, it’s time to ask for the gift.  There is always a gift following all suffering that we experience in life.  It may show itself immediately but often it will take some time.  Your gift might appear months or even years after the experience but trust me it will always come.

As you wait for the rebirth and the planet to heal, take some time to work on cultivating your GIFTS and let me know how it goes.

Sending you all love,

Lauren
