Pose of the Month: Mariela Bahri Chooses Hanumanasana, Monkey pose.
I chose this pose because it makes me feel grounded, it helps me release tension and calms my mind. Not only I stretch my legs but also brings me true devotion to my practice.
I had been practicing this pose for a long time and enjoyed the physical benefits of opening the hamstrings as well as the hip flexors. It also strengthens the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor.
What I love the most is the feeling of my breathing getting deeper and more stable the longer I hold this pose, bringing me balance and eventually calms my mind.
