Pose of the Month: Chris Temple Chooses Warrior Dog

Christopher Temple chooses Warrior Dog

Not a pose in the strictest of senses, but this pose has a special meaning to me and I LOVE the way it feels in my body. The intense hip opener is a reminder to surrender to vulnerability, to feel my emotions without fear or shame. The rooting power of the legs conjures strength to remind be that I am not a slave to these emotions. The tailbone rooting back allows the humble prostration of the upper body, third eye connecting to the ground, hammocking the heart between the fingertips and the hips, the heart yearning for a connection to mother earth. For me this pose is a representation of strength and humility. The acknowledgement that our power is endless but it comes from recognition that there is a force greater than ourselves and it is only grace and our connection and humble acceptance of this force that we are truly great.

Namaste,

Christopher Temple
