Namaste Dear Teachers,
This past weekend I performed “GLORIA” by Patti Smith in the Battle of the All Girl Fantasy Bands – An event where amateur musicians perform to raise money & awareness for the Neo-Political Cowgirls a theatre group that empowers women of all ages! I was hesitant to share this experience, feeling afraid to be judged… I was nervous about performing onstage for the first time. So I went into meditation ceremony before sound check & asked the universe for support.
What was revealed to me is the reason I am doing this is to heal myself and to heal all women who have been abused or ignored or made to make themselves small in any way and to put myself out there to inspire us all to not hold back, to express ourselves, to release & let go. To own our power, step out of our boxes & be free no matter what our age, size, shape or color! This song is a tribute to my idol Patti Smith who taught me at a very young age to live a life of authenticity!
