Where has yoga taken you?
Yoga has taken me into my body, out of the thinking mind, and has taught me the vulnerability to be able to serve others.
How did your yoga teacher training influence your life?
Teacher training at Sonic helped me understand and articulate what yoga is, what it means to me, and it has also offered the tools to share this amazing practice with anyone who is curious!
I felt I learned more in those 3 months than in all of the years I’d been practicing before; physically, mentally and spiritually. Life has become an extension of my training, always drawing from a place of gratitude, love and non-judgment.
What was your first yoga class experience?
When I first moved to New York, I was 19, working and in school full time. As you might imagine, it was completely overwhelming and I knew something had to be done to help with the anxiety and stress. Everyday I would walk by a sign for a studio offering donation based yoga across the street from my job. Finally I went in and took a class. After that, I started going whenever I could, learned how to breathe and sit with my feelings, and the rest is history!
