Warrior One is pose of empowerment. It teaches us to stay grounded in order to find strength. We use the assistance of the earth to tap into strength and openness in the hips. This strength in the lower triangle of the subtle and physical body, allows us to forge ahead in new creative ways. The drawing in of uddiyanna bhanda stimulates will and determination to bring that creativity to life. Also, with this fierce energy lock, we are able to keep space in the shoulders and allow the heart and throat to open outwardly in beautiful ways of communication in sharing our truth.
The mythology of Viradhadra, Daksha, Sitha and Shiva reminds us that even though we have the power to act doesn’t mean we should. When troubled situations and feelings come about, we need to take a pause and make sure our actions are coming from a place deeply rooted in love rather than coming from the Ego. A true warrior knows when to wield her weapon and when to wield her heart. Compassion and tolerance is this best gift we can give when we are learning to communicate live and love in the presents of our fellows.
Namaste,
See you on the mat
