Dear Teachers,
My contemplation for this month is Unity. As you all know the word Yoga translates to union, but just not any union, the union of body, mind spirit and more importantly union with all that is. This includes every aspect of nature, as well as every creature that lives on this planet, including all humans, and the planet itself.
There are so much diversity and conflict in our political environment right now. There is too much emphasis on separation and division. How can we all embrace each other, celebrate difference and live in harmony?
Yoga gives us the tools to do all that and more. We begin with the self, integrating our own body, mind, spirit, and from there we can move on to the greater challenge of the unity of all beings.
The practice of Prakti Paksha Bhavana, is my mantra right now. When you feel yourself entering into a state of judgment, notice the energy that is coming up. If there is dissonance, then use the practice to apply the opposite, move closer, find a way to be in unity and acceptance. Educate yourself to learn about others. Embrace the difference and acknowledge the ease that comes with acceptance and love.
My practice for the last weeks of summer is Unity. As you move through your life allow yourself to open to ease and acceptance. When you feel yourself moving into a stress state of dissonance, judgment or separation, take a moment breath deep and feel the deeper connection, the connection of your inner essence to all that is.
With Love,
Lauren
