Namaste Dear Friends,
I’m so thrilled to be on this journey of awakening with you all. I was listening to the news briefly this morning and was feeling the weight of the burden of our reality. Living in this moment in time can sometimes be too much to bear. I often ponder should I listen or not? Is it helpful or productive?. I’ve come to the decision that I need to be tapped in, so I listen a little, just enough to be aware but not too much so that I become overwhelmed.
I feel I need to know the truth so I can focus on the positive, on the possibility to heal our country, people of all nations and the planet. I realize that it takes dedication and action to rise above the river of darkness that seems to be flowing right now. I am so inspired by the words of the Hopi Elder’s Prophecy.
He tells us, “There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those that will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly” Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open and our heads above the water.
And I say who is there with you to celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves. Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for”
Ancient Hopi Elders Prophecy.
There is much to contemplate in this powerful statement. Yes, there is a river flowing fast,
It is the river that is creating stress in our minds, causing health issues, harming our planet, creating violence and anger between us. And yes, this is a very scary time, many people will be afraid, and their fear will cause them to stagnate, over medicate and act impulsively to find quick temporary fixes for their discomfort and pain.
Know that the river has its destination. He is asking us to trust and to let go. To be strong and to keep stay awake and aware. It’s time to use our strength to stay above the darkness, so we can move through the difficulties of life and come out the other side. Our Yoga practice gives us the tools to stay this course. By practicing the philosophy, and committing to a daily practice of Yoga asana, pranayama and meditation we can find the resilience to move through the darkness into the light.
He asks us, “who is with us to celebrate?”. He encourages us to not take anything personally, to not let our ego rule our minds and our destiny. Our spiritual practice requires a commitment to gratitude and celebration. In order to find the power to transform we must open to the light, commit to celebrating all that is good and beautiful in our worlds. When we allow the ego to take over and become selfish and self-centered, our spiritual journey can come to a halt.
He tells us the time of the lone wolf is over. It is time for us to come together with our friends, families and communities. The level of deep healing that humanity and our planet need right now cannot be done alone. We need to come together. He asks us to banish struggle from our attitude and vocabulary. We have to see our lives as a gift and this call to action as an uprising as a way to come together in harmony, not as a fight.
He tells us all that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. He is inviting us to create ceremony in our lives. He is asking us to honor all that we have, to take time to bless the gifts of our ancestors and our planet. And to do this in a manner that acknowledges the beauty of life.
He ends the prophecy with “We are the ones we have been waiting for”. In his final phrase he reminds us that we cannot wait for someone else to do this for us. We cannot look outside of ourselves for a leader, but that we must each take responsibility and dive in to create the change we want to see.
As I read this prophecy over and over again. It instills hope. It awakens a light inside me that is committed to transformation not only for myself but for all of humanity.
I hope you will consider these words and that they will brighten your day and provide hope for a brighter future for all beings. For more information on the Hopi Elders Prophecy, listen to the replay of a Conversation and Meditation on the Hopi Elders Prophecy, below.
