Yoga Highlight of the Month with Neeta

Where has Yoga has taken you?

Born and raised in India- the land of Yoga, I was introduced to yoga at a very young age and continued to practice Yogasan for years. Though, it was only more than a decade later that I embraced Yoga in its true sense, when I took a break from my corporate life. During this break, I was in a phase of my life where I wanted to make a re-connection with my authentic self. I had achieved much of my outer world realities and goals and was seeking a journey within. This was also a time when I relocated to NYC and had a lot of time at my disposal. So I started going back to the things that I grew up on – meditation, Reiki, long walks, moon gazing, soulful music, reading and of course Yoga. And since I was new to NY and still in the phase of exploring this beautiful and magical side of the world (for me it was nothing less than Alice in Wonderland), I first started taking ‘Yoga in the Park’ bi-weekly sessions. To be able to move my body under the open sky, surrounded by beautiful trees and of course Manhattan’s big blocks (buildings), brought much joy to me.

Over the next few weeks, I saw a huge shift in my personal meditation discipline that led me to finding layers of my existence- the one’s I hadn’t explore for all these years. Soon, I had this huge urge to find a base, a home to practice Yoga and my path led me to Sonic YogaYoga opened a path of first being aware and then owning my truth…living my truth. Yoga supports me to give voice to my inspirations and intuitions. Being an empath, a healer and someone who is super sensitive to everyone’s energies, Yoga has helped me to work through and channelize these energies in more loving and productive ways. Yoga is a sadhna (discipline) that allows me to travel deeper within myself and be in the vortex. To me it is a moving meditation that takes me into deeper realms to explore. It creates a beautiful bridge between myphysical essence and my subtle energy body. Yoga creates a State of Limitless, a vast spaciousness that one can choose to fill with as many spectrums, as much joy and as much love we can hold and spread.
