I started my yoga training merely for the workout and physical benefits, and had no intention of receiving other gifts from it. In fact, I’m not really sure if I believed that it could help me get calmer, more centered, and all the stuff I read about, but I was hoping something, anything would shift.
What started has a selfish endeavor has led me to become more in tune with myself than ever before. I feel more like myself than I have in a long time. While that feeling has been manifested because of other practices in addition to yoga, yoga was the keystone habit that helped me discover more.
Now, I practice six days a week and am beginning to receive opportunities to teach. I have just received a chance to teach a community class for people living with severe mental illness at an art gallery. My current goal is to develop a stronger home practice.
