Get Out of Your Head
Namaste Dear Community,
Sweet April, the month of true spring, Earth Day, Easter and Passover, the time to honor rebirth and renewal. Some of us are facing challenges now, post pandemic adjustments and dealing with the heaviness of the global situation. It’s time to shift and heal. Getting out of your head is a great place to start!
Many of you have a basic understanding of the 7 Chakra system, the psycho-emotional vortexes that lie in the center of our subtle body. The higher chakras are connected to our celestial instincts, the middle chakra to our human instincts and the lower chakras to our animal instincts.
Living in a world dominated by technology, most of us spend much of our time in our heads, in the realm of thoughts and dreams. The higher chakras are a wonderful place to dwell when we are looking to ascend and rise above our earthly challenges, but if we spend too much time there, it can create fear, anxiety and lead to procrastination and stagnation.
I was walking with a friend the other day who is experiencing some challenges in her relationship. There was so much thought and analyzing of the situation, she was confused, angry and overwhelmed. She was in her head.
My suggestion was to come down to earth, to connect with her lower chakras to tend to her basic needs so that she can feel safe and secure as she contemplates her alternatives and connects to the energy needed to forge a path forward to healing.
The three lower chakras are: Muladhara (safety+security), Swadisthana (creativity + fertility) and Manipura (Power + Self Esteem). Working with these chakras forces us to come down to earth and take care of business. Sure, we can always use our heads to contemplate the many outcomes of any situation, but it is in the being and doing, not just in the imagining that the stage for positive change is set.
In the tantric tradition of the Chakra system there are two ways to travel from the low to high, we call this the Awakening Channel. This path is perfect for evolving spiritually. And then there is the path from high to low, we call this the Manifesting Channel.
When life hits us with problems, decisions, and hardship, the place to begin to manifest change is with rooting, creating, and acting. All of these are lower chakra experiences. It is in this more concrete space that we will be able to find solutions, heal and initiate change.
So, the next time you are faced with a life challenge, get out of your head come down to the realm of your lower chakras where you will find the stability, wisdom, and strength to overcome!
Join me this weekend for Master Classes to explore the Chakra system.
Many Blessings,
Lauren
