Where has Yoga taken you?

I grew up as a competition dancer and when that journey ended, I felt out of touch with the connection between my mind and body. Yoga has allowed me to tap into multiple layers of myself while learning more about the intricate philosophy in which the practice is based. Because of yoga, I feel more well rounded as a person and knowledgeable about how to take care of my mind and body. I am now a yoga teacher sharing my practice with others, all while gaining so much every time I step on my mat.

How did your yoga teacher training influence your life?

YTT enhanced my practice immensely. There was a noticeable physical fitness gain because of it, as well as an increase in my awareness of the meaning of yoga. I learned so much about philosophy, anatomy, and how to share yoga with others. I am so grateful for my YTT because it brought me incredible connections with fellow yogis (teachers and students) and it elevated the way I think about yoga and life on and off the mat. It was the perfect mix of self discovery and validation wrapped into a love of yoga.

What was your first yoga class experience?

My first class was in a sweaty tiny room with about 40 people and 1 teacher. I had no idea what “mountain pose” was and I felt intimidated by the loud breathing. However, I knew from the very first time I started using my body as an instrument to create yoga that this was something special. Fast forward about 4 years later and here I am!
