Be Water My Friend
Be water my friend,
I was recently on the interweb and I came across a video that I hadn’t seen in a while. It is a video of Bruce Lee speaking about being being like water.
For those of you who don’t know, Bruce Lee was a Hollywood actor and a kung fu martial artist who was incredibly disciplined. A true master of his craft.
Bruce Lee explains, “Water takes the shape of whatever vessel it inhabits. If you put it in a cup it takes the shape of the cup. If you pour it into a bottle it takes the shape of the bottle. Put it into a pot it takes the shape of the pot.”
Also, water will always find a way if the is one to be found. If there is a crack or a hole, water will find its way to that place and find a way out. Through its persistence it can carve through rock and make its way through mountains.
As we maintain the balance between chaos and order, especially during these unprecedented times while we are waiting for things to go back to “normal,” it’s really important for us to adjust and be mailable towards whatever comes our way.
My Mantra for the week,
Today I chose to be like water. I will change my shape as challenges arise and if there is a way I will find it. Through my persistence I will succeed.
Namaste,
Chris Temple
