Director & Founder
My family, my beautiful, joyful, big hearted baby girl, our radiant Sonic Yoga community, nature and all of her glory.
My goals as a yoga instructor:
To practice daily, to maintain strength, inspiration and integrity to support my students on a path of inner peace and love.
A little about me:
Lauren began a serious study of Yoga with Sri Dharma Mittra in the early 1990’s. Since then she has studied with many of the great masters, but has been most profoundly influenced by the brilliance and spontaneity of Shiva Rea, the devotion of Dharma, the bhakti of Jai Uttal and Krishna Das, the unconditional love of Amma, and the radiance of Sri Swamini Mayatitananda. She is always in the current of studying Prana Flow with her friend and teacher Shiva Rea, who inspires her to live her life with spontaneity, to remain close to the source and to move deeply in tune with the pulse of the universe. Lauren is a devoted Yogini whose deep love of nature inspires her practice and her life. She humbly aspires to share the insights of her teachers and to encourage her students to celebrate life, with an open heart and mind. She shares her passion with her students on Yoga surf retreats, from Montauk to Morocco. When not practicing or teaching, she spends her free time enjoying life with her family, JJ, her partner and her baby girl Jaya Lynn. She can also be found communing with nature, riding waves and snow, developing her inner creativity, dancing, chanting, gardening, cooking, & playing djimbe in her home in the surfside village of Montauk, Long Island.

An actor, mover and dedicated breather, the moment I was introduced to yoga, I knew it was for me. I came to yoga shortly after I discovered pilates, and found I was able to use both to correct and improve different physical issues, including chronic headaches. For a long while I practiced both, but yoga won my heart. I graduated from Sonic Yoga’s 200 hour Teacher Training program, Will Duprey’s 500 hour training, and am currently completing Sonic’s 500 hour Prana Flow program. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, E-RYT 200 as well as Pre-Natal, I am the Assistant Studio Manager and Corporate/Private Liaison for Sonic Yoga and Will Duprey’s lead assistant. I teach at various locations around the city and even abroad, but Sonic is my home. I teach in the Vinyasa style from Hatha philosophy, creating each class on a theme, and incorporating pranayama, mantra and meditation. Strong attention is given to alignment. I am greatly honored to be able to share the transformations that yoga brings, to teach and to continue to learn. Many thanks to my precious teachers, including Johanna Aldrich, Will Duprey, Lauren Hanna and Jonathan Fields.
Keith came to yoga while searching for methods to heal a chronic back injury and ended up not only healing, but growing and changing in ways he never anticipated. Keith is Yoga Alliance certified E-RYT 500 through SonicYoga’s 200 hour program and Will Duprey’s Hathavidya 300 hour. Keith is featured on Sonic’s weekly schedule teaching beginner and advanced levels in Hatha based flow. All classes regardless of level are exacting, physical and meditative with an emphasis on a balanced practice.

She’s the director of Mama Devi, Sonic Yoga’s Prenatal Teacher Training and is grateful to be guiding teachers in the 200 Hour Teacher Training program.
