Jacqueline Leon is a New York–based photographer whose work blends a documentary eye with a cinematic sensibility. Her love for storytelling began in high school darkrooms, where she spent hours printing black-and-white film and photographing family gatherings. Those early lessons in patience, composition, and emotion shaped the way she sees people and light today.
For this exhibition, Jacqueline turns her lens toward boxer Danny Gonzalez, a fighter she once watched train from her childhood window. His focus fascinated her—it was the kind of dedication she longed to understand. Now, as Danny prepares for the biggest fight of his life—a moment he has clawed, kicked, and fought for—Jacqueline captures his journey with deep respect and awe. Photographing him feels like coming full circle, a testament to perseverance and the power of purpose.
Influenced by films like The Godfather Trilogy and Catch Me If You Can, Jacqueline approaches photography the way she views cinema: as a sequence of still moments that reveal truth in motion. Now working as a portrait photographer and aspiring full-time unit photographer, she continues to seek stories that reflect the beauty, struggle, and potential within us all.

Her work spans large-scale mural projects, and paintings held in private and public collections along the East Coast. As an educator, she has taught Art Studio, Sculpture, Painting, Drawing, and AP Art and Design at Philadelphia high schools, where she currently leads and revitalizes a once underdeveloped Art & Design department bringing accessibility to the arts within her school community.
Throughout her career, Dominique has remained deeply committed to the belief that art is a powerful tool for empowerment and self-expression, one that should be accessible to all. Her teaching and creative practices are rooted in the conviction that art gives students a voice, fosters community, and transforms lives.
