Self-Knowledge

by Keith Partington

Why are we taking all of these yoga classes? Because we feel great after! Right? Indeed yes. And the feeling lasts and pulls us into the next one. “Feeling good’s good enough” is great quote from a movie I adore (google!) but in that tale the characters are under a good deal of duress. We can do better.

There’s more than the afterglow. Imagine there is a through line in this practice you love. If that is so, where is that line leading you? Who draws that line? Is it your teacher? Or is it really you? It is you. Even if you’ve never given it much thought, you were drawn to this practice for a reason. This reason, if uncovered, is illuminating and empowering.

A philosophy underpins this practice, and it’s not an archaic abstract. It’s really an expounding of stuff already within us.

Why does this matter? If this understanding is brought to the surface and integrated into your practice, you and the perception of everything around you changes, plus you set the direction and scope of those changes. Sound good?

See you in mid-April!
