The Sonic Creative Live Celebrates Art, Community, & a Great Cause

Last Saturday was one memorable evening at Sonic Yoga. The Sonic Creative Live welcomed people into the intimately lit Chandra studio. Yogis, friends, and family sat, drinking wine and watching members of the Sonic Family share their art. The performances were diverse, beautiful, and daring.

David Foster, yogi, healer and stand-up comedian opened with a set that had the audience in stitches. Next was an inspiring dance piece with original poetry created and performed by Pamela Lyn. Chris Temple played guitar and sang three of his beautiful (and at times haunting) original songs and ended with a cover that had the audience singing and dancing in their seats. Darby Canessa performed her dynamic choreography with projection of newspaper headlines about Puerto Rico’s devastation after Hurricane Maria.

The audience and artists then moved to the Surya studio where they were greeted by a mix of sound, projections of colorful lights, and an impactful meditative performance  by Arantxa Araujo (titled: “SENSE-sos-COPE”). The crowd then enjoyed community, horderves, wine and a phenomenal showing of paintings and photographs. Artist Hannah Lowe Corman showed a series of dreamy and  beautiful paintings. Photographer, Carolin Alarcón Loor, showcased four stunning portraitures.  Tania Kazi, a Sonic Yoga teacher, shared a number of mesmerizing paintings.

The suggested donation at the door and the raffle brought in money which will be donated to Direct Relief, who have been aiding Puerto Rico since becoming victim to Hurricane Maria.  Three lucky raffle prize winners won a one month unlimited yoga gift certificate, beautiful print by Carolin Alarcón Loor, a Thai massage or private yoga session with Christopher Temple.

The evening was electrifying thanks to the talented artists who shared their work, the producers (Caroline, Chris, & Todd Henry), and the community of audience members who showed up to support the arts and a great cause.

The Sonic Creative is always looking to share artists work. For more information about The Sonic Creative please email todd@sonicyoga.com.
