How long have you been practicing yoga? Since 1998.
What does yoga do for you? Yoga opens my heart & expands my mind. It is a full body & soul experience, enlightening every part of who I am, helping shape me into the best me I can be. It is the embodiment of peace & strength.
Hobbies: Yoga of course! Dancing, painting, writing, reading, walking, creating, listening to music.
How long have you been coming to Sonic? Since this summer.
What classes do you usually take? Flow 1 & 2 with Chris Temple, Keith Partington, & Jeffrey Duval. More recently with my Fall Schedule changes I attend Sarah Ireland & Drue Michael’s morning classes & Taquice Campbell when I can!
Most unforgettable yoga memory? One morning I was in malasana and the sun was streaming in through the window, enveloping me it’s warm rays. My breath was flowing up and down my spine & light was shooting out of the top of my head. All points of my body were radiating in separate directions (as in so many postures). This day, malasana, feet planted & grounded into the earth, gravity pulling my body downwards, elbows reaching outwards, pressing the hips wide. Heart was open, receiving gifts from the universe. I became the energy of the universe, filled completely, silent, breathing, accepting. Pure love & joy.
Life lesson learned from yoga? To surrender, accept, & be patient. Let go of the ego and enjoy the moment. Everything is not for the now.
What does peace of mind mean to you? Quiet mind, light floating body, smiling, the sun shining, filled to the brim with positivity.
Goals in life: Happiness, always happiness, and to remain positive, upbeat, & bright throughout the course of my physical existence. All other tangible goals will be accomplished if these spiritual goals remain in tact.
Philosophy of life: Be kind, breathe, smile, stay light within mind & heart, remain humble & grateful always.
