Bio

The founding Director NYC based Sonic Yoga, Lauren has been guiding students in Yoga for over 15 years. Armed with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and wisdom passed on to her from many of the great masters, Lauren has been profoundly influenced by the devotion of Dharma Mittra, the bhakti of Jai Uttal, Krishna Das, the unconditional love of Amma, the radiance of Sri Swamini Mayatitananda, the insight of Sally Kempton and by the brilliance and spontaneity of Shiva Rea, whom Lauren assists on Prana Flow trainings internationally. To add on to all of that inspiration, Lauren is currently training in the field of Kundalini Yoga Medicine with Guru Dharam Khalsa.

When not practicing or teaching internationally, Lauren spends her free time enjoying life with her family, communing with nature, riding waves and snow, developing her inner creativity, dancing, chanting, gardening, cooking & playing harmonium in her home in the surfside village of Montauk, Long Island.

In the process of writing her first book, Sacred Fertility Yoga, Lauren feels strongly about the feminine in Yoga and hopes to help women who are facing the challenges of infertility. In her book, Lauren shares her personal triumphs, the wisdom of the teachers and healers that guided her on the path to fertility, along with practical knowledge and skills.

Lauren is a devoted Yogini whose deep love of nature inspires her practice and her life. She humbly aspires to share the insights of her teachers both internal and external, and to encourage her students to celebrate life, with an open heart and mind. It’s with this passion Lauren recently launched her non-profit organization, The Fresh Foundation: creating profound communal change through intentional compassion & Karma Yoga (selfless service).

Jolie Parcher

This training is about learning to walk the walk of a grounded passionate life of your creation.

Taught by teachers with 500 hours or more of combined training who are committed to their own practice and continued learning; teachers who have gone deeper into aspects of the yoga traditions to specialize in areas personally important to them to share with you. Whether your desire is mainly to deepen your practice and get into your best yoga shape or to become a confident yoga teacher able to share your love of yoga, the Sonic at Mandala Yoga Teacher Training is a comprehensive and practical way to Do It In Your Own Backyard!

We will celebrate our learning, share rituals at beach fires beneath the full moon and play in the water to cool off after vigorous asana. Set in beautiful Amagansett Square where we can mingle, share meals, enjoy a rest in the sun, we are also based within walking distance to the ocean, perhaps one of our wisest teachers. Incorporating the beauty and wisdom of nature during break time is just another added perk to our training. Whether you make the Hamptons your home year round or seasonally, our local training becomes much more affordable when done in your own “backyard”.

You will also benefit from the continuing education we have in place; new teacher mentor programs, 300 hour TT modules in pre-natal yoga, kids yoga training, ayurveda yoga specialist certification, aromatherapy, yoga nidra, sanskrit studies, kirtan….

Eric Pettigrew

I think learning is one of the best experiences someone can tap into; it is a never ending experience that should be driven with passion.

I love to facilitate that by teaching/guiding those who have a strong desire to learn. I also think Yoga is such a vast subject to explore that it seems an enjoyable process of continuing education, to others and to myself.

Once, my yoga teacher told me: “ Eric, we are not teaching Yoga, rather we are teaching people” and that has changed my view of teaching Yoga ever since.

Here is a quote that I like to share as it expresses perfectly how I feel about teaching:

“A good teacher can never be fixed in a routine. Each moment requires a sensitive mind that is constantly changing and constantly adapting. A teacher must never impose his students to fit his favorite pattern. A good teacher protects his students from his own influence. A teacher is never a giver of truth; he is a guide, a pointer to the truth that each student must find for himself. I am not teaching you anything. I just help you to explore yourself.” – Bruce Lee

Bio

Originally from Quebec, Canada, Eric began his career as a professional dancer and continues to pursue his passion for movement and healing through yoga, massage and homeopathy.

Eric is a teacher & practitioner of Yoga for over 15 years. He is an established homeopath as well as a massage therapist. His private practice, Holistic Life Works, is based in NYC and Eastern Long Island. He currently participates in the “Urban Zen”integrative therapy program that brings holistic healing techniques to hospitals and other medical institutions. Eric is also a “master trainer” for Y4C (Yoga for Cancer) that allows him to offer yoga classes catered for individuals affected by cancer and to educate other Yoga instructors into this methodology.

Eric’s yoga classes are fun and informative. His goal is to increase awareness of the body and the mind while sharing and experiencing the flow of yoga and its healing practice. To contact Eric for private massage, yoga instruction and homeopathy visit holisticlifeworks.com.
