Where has yoga taken you?

Yoga has taken me on a deep journey of transformation, both physically and mentally. Unexpectedly, a couple of months ago, I received the devastating diagnosis of thyroid cancer. From that moment to the day of surgery, I had to deal with a wave of emotions. Yet, strangely, I felt prepared—mentally, physically, and spiritually—for this daunting chapter in my life. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a loving and dedicated husband, along with a strong network of friends and family who have made this challenging journey more bearable. It’s been 16 days since the surgery, and while I cannot practice yoga physically just yet, I have been nurturing my mindset through meditation and breathing techniques, reaffirming my resilience and inner strength.

How did yoga teacher training influence your life?

Completing the Sonic Yoga Teacher Training Program has had a profound impact on my life. It not only deepened my understanding of yoga as a practice but also enhanced my ability to share its benefits with others. It’s brought mindfulness, discipline, and a sense of purpose into my daily routine, considering my past struggles with focus and depression.

What was your first yoga class experience?

My first yoga class experience was both challenging and enlightening. I remember feeling a bit intimidated, but the supportive atmosphere and the guidance of my teachers helped me discover the physical and mental benefits of yoga. It was a moment of self-discovery that set me on the path to deepen my yoga practice and, hopefully, help other people too.
